DETROIT (WISH) -- More than 100 missing children were located in Michigan in a single day.
U.S. Marshals, Michigan State Police and local officers recovered 123 children during "Operation MISafeKid" on Sept. 26.
U.S. Marshals said the sweep focused on locating victims of sex trafficking, according to a release.
In interviewing the children, investigators said three children were identified as possible sex trafficking victims. Another juvenile that was found, a homeless teen, hadn't eaten in three days.
Investigators combed Wayne County in Michigan visiting schools, last known addresses and friend's homes to find the kids.
Prior to the sweep, investigators went through case files for 301 missing children in the area.
