Day one of the NFL draft was an exciting day for the Dallas Cowboys, selecting Ezekiel Elliot and bolstering an already formidable offense…when Tony Romo is healthy.
After making an unsuccessful attempt to trade back into the first round to select QB Paxton Lynch, the Cowboys will start day two of the NFL Draft near the top of the second round, possibly at the top if rumors are correct they’ve been trying to move up to get the first pick.
At the very least, Dallas has the third pick in the second round, and they’re probably eyeing help on the defensive line, particularly defensive end. There’s a couple DEs available: Clemson’s Kevin Dodd and Oklahoma State’s Emmanuel Ogbah. Those guys are pass rushers and the Cowboys have a need.
If Jerry and company are looking for a riskier pick, there are two guys still on the board: UCLA’s Myles Jack and Eastern Kentucky’s Noah Spence.
Jack is still recovering from a torn meniscus surgery and Spence was suspended from Ohio State after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.
Day two of the draft starts at 6 p.m.
