Getting your child to brush their teeth every morning might be a challenge, but, are you giving them too much toothpaste?
A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals young children are overusing toothpaste.
Researchers surveying more than 5,000 parents with kids ages three to 15.
The group finding of about 40-percent of kids ages three to six uses a brush full or half full of toothpaste despite the recommended toothpaste amount for those ages being the size of a pea.
The CDC says ingesting too much fluoride can lead to streaky or splotchy teeth later in life.
Experts suggest parents take charge of the tube to ensure their kids are using just the right dollop of toothpaste.
