WTAMU Hosting A Writers’ Academy

If you’ve ever wanted to write a comic book, novel, story, or other pieces of writing, you have the chance to learn from bestselling authors. 

The Office of Extended Studies at West Texas A&M University is holding its annual West Texas Writers’ Academy, June 4 through June 8. 

The academy features seven instructors who will cover seven classes in difference genres. Each class will help writers improve their craft.

All writing levels (beginner to advanced) are welcome. 

There are two special events open to public:

  • Monday, June 4 at 6 p.m.
    • Roundup Dinner/Author book signing/keynote speaker
      • Colleen Story: How to Navigate a Successful Journey Through Publication & Beyond
    • Tickets are $35
  • Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m.
    • Colleen Story: Overwhelmed Writer Rescue (bestselling book)
      • Restoring creative energy & writers block; works in any creative medium
    • Tickets are $15

Writing Academy cost:

  • $695 for the week
  • Private on-campus residence hall room $35/night

Class sizes are limited. The deadline to register is May 12.
