The Tulia Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page is reporting that lightning caused a wildfire to burn 1,340 acres in Swisher County.
Officials say Tulia VFD, Happy VFD, Kress, Randall County, Canyon, Vigo and Texas Forest Service all responded to the fire.
The post states that since the beginning of the year Tulia VFD has responded to 57 calls this year; they average 90 normally.
The post also states, "Please pray for rain... All these people volunteer and are some of the best people I've ever met. Thank you all!!"
