West Texas A&M University is hosting a gala celebrating the release of WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World on Feb. 2. It is a generational plan that is supposed to set achievements for WTAMU by the year 2035.
The Texas A&M University System Chancellor, John Sharp, the president of WTAMU, Walter Wendler, and other local leaders will be hosting the gala.
WTAMU is expected to have a number of doctoral programs by WT’s 125th anniversary in 2035.
The WT 125 is set to celebrate the future of the leading institution for higher education in the Texas Panhandle.
The task force for WT 125 included more than 300 community members making 10 theme groups focused on the connectivity of WT and the surrounding communities.
The gala will take place at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Amarillo at Embassy Suites, 550 South Buchanan Street.
