Virginia’s Scandals Widen

(NBC News) Pressure continues to mount on Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to resign over a racist photo published on his 1984 medical school yearbook page.

Northam first apologized, then reversed course and denied he is one of the people in the photo showing a man in blackface and another in a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood. At the same time, he admitted to once darkening his skin as part of a Michael Jackson costume.

The lieutenant governor’s accuser has retained the same law firm that represented Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford, who last year accused then Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
