This event is open to the public and a reception will follow the unveiling.
Aldrich is a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran from Oregon who served a total of 17 years in the military. He began his art career in 1990 as a frame shop manager. Aldrich is the owner of MK Aldrich Art Gallery in Amarillo. He was commissioned by the Veterans Land Board for a custom painting – and will be donating an additional painting – both of which will be displayed at Ussery-Roan.
“We are grateful to Mr. Aldrich for his military service and for his outreach to veterans through his skills as an artist,” said Lee Persefield, the Texas Veterans Land Board representative for the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home. “The VLB commissioned Mr. Aldrich for a custom piece and he has decided to donate an additional piece titled ‘American Freedom takes Flight.’ We are excited to unveil these patriotic pieces, which showcase Mr. Aldrich’s vivid style and use of color.”
