DPS responded to a one-vehicle crash on I-40 this morning in Potter County, resulting in the death 48-year-old Arnold Delarosa, of Mission, TX.
Delarosa was driving a Truck Tractor/Semi-trailer east on the IH-40 bridge approximately five miles west of Amarillo. Delarosa veered off the roadway, crashed through the guardrail and plummeted to the ground. The truck tractor then crashed into cement pillars under the overpass which caused the vehicle to catch fire. The entire truck and trailer were fully engulfed in flames.
Delarosa was pronounced dead on scene by the Potter County Justice of the Peace. The next of kin have been notified.
The semi-trailer was loaded with truck tires.
The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
Westbound traffic remains closed and traffic is being diverted onto the service road past the bridge.
The crash remains under investigation.

DPS is reporting that one person is dead in the crash.
The 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound on I-40 when the truck left the roadway, crashed through the guard rail and plummeted to the ground between the eastbound and westbound lanes.
The truck crashed into the cement pillars and caught fire.
UPDATE 10:56 A.M.:
DPS is reporting that the crash happened at I-40 near Bushland at mile marker 57 at 9:30 a.m.
TxDOT is report that a truck hit the I-40 Bridge at Bushland, catching it on fire.
I-40 eastbound and I-40 Westbound are closed until further notice.
Both eastbound and westbound traffic is being detoured to the frontage roads.
