Amarillo SWAT is investigating a possible home burglary in west Amarillo.

Today at 2:49 PM, officers responded to a report that a woman arrived at her home and found two armed men inside.

According to officials the men threatened her and told her to leave. She left the home and the police were called to the apartments.

Responding officers found a 17-year-old female near the apartment and detained her. She remains in custody on a misdemeanor warrant.

Due to the information that the suspects were armed, APD SWAT assisted by using a loudspeaker on the armored rescue vehicle to try to make contact with the suspects.

We are told that the APD Negotiators were called to the scene when no one in the apartment would respond.

Officers are using the police robot to attempt to make contact with the men seen in the apartment.

Officials are asking that you please avoid the area of the apartments at 3115 Julian as Julian and 15th are blocked off near Alabama and Virginia.
