Palo Duro High School inducted two new members into its hall of fame this morning.

Master Sergeant Jeff Jacobs served in the United States Army, where he was awarded numerous medals for his service including a Purple Heart.

He graduated with the class of 1996.

Also inducted, Dr. Zuleyma Carruba-Rogel, who graduated in 2005 as a Gates Millennial Scholar and now works for AISD working to raise future AISD educators.

“All the nominees have to pass a certain litmus test that we have, for lack of a better term,” said David Hall with the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. “This year was quite easy, even after we had a good discussion of about 15 to 20 mins.”

The Palo Duro Hall of Fame was founded in 1983 as a way to honor former dons who have served their school and community after graduating high school.
