The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center hosts its Annual Future Healthcare Professional’s Experience.
The FHCPE is Saturday, March 30, and starts at 8 a.m. and goes through 3 p.m. at the Academic Classroom Building, 3601 4th St. in Lubbock.
The event is for participants to gain insight into becoming a health care professional.
High school students, college students and current professionals interested in entering a new career are encouraged to attend.
“This experience will feature informative sessions from all disciplines is aimed at anyone interested in a health care career including non-traditional students looking at going back to school for another degree,” Brooke Walterscheid, TTUHSC Student Government Association president and FHPE committee member, said.
Walterscheid also said this event will give individuals interested in pursuing health care related professions insight to all fields.
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Health Professions, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing will have faculty, students and staff present to discuss and demonstrate what a career in each of their respective programs entails.
According to Walterscheid, students will also be able to participate in anatomy demonstrations from the anatomy lab and tour the F. Marie Hall SimLife Center.
Students will also get an overview of financial aid, a breakdown of the costs to attend an academic health institution and advice for applying to and attending academic health institution programs.
The event is free and lunch will be provided.
