Just recently Sunset Lake in Guymon was stocked with $4,000 of trout.
Sunset lake is a great asset to the City of Guymon. It is stocked periodically with Trout and Catfish for the community to enjoy. To offset the cost of stocking, Trout stamps and lake use permits are required and available for purchase at city hall at 424 N. Main in the utility billing department where utility bills are paid.
To legally fish at the lake, the fisherman must have a state fishing license, a lake user permit and a trout stamp.
The city permits ($5 for residents $7.50 for non-residents) and trout stamps ($7.50) are good for the entire year that they are purchased. Please make sure that you have the required paperwork before fishing because the fines will take away the joy of fishing in a hurry. Fines can reach a maximum of $500 plus court costs.
Fishing seasons, rules and other pertinent information can be acquired at city hall and found on signs at entrances to the lake. Prepare and enjoy what Guymon has to offer.
