Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of 55 Pounds of Marijuana

CARSON COUNTY - The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 55 pounds of marijuana Saturday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County. 

At approximately 3:42 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. 

The Trooper said they discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in luggage. 

DPS said the drugs are worth approximately $333,000.

Qi Lin Xiao, 29, and Lian Lin, 29, both of Lawrenceville, Georgia, were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. 

Xiao and Lin were transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Sacramento, California to Lawrenceville, Georgia.
