(NBC News) The automotive industry is facing a new kind of safety issue in vehicles, customer technology inundation.
There has been a recent increase in safety features in new vehicles aimed at keeping drivers out of accidents and in their lanes. Many car dealers are finding that customers are simply having trouble keeping up with all of the new technology.
From blind spot monitoring to adaptive cruise control, the National Safety Council has launched the website MyCarDoesWhat.org to try and explain confusing or intimidating technology.
“”My Car Does What?” is really a one-stop-shop for consumers to understand all of the technology that is available in their vehicle that can contribute to their safety behind the wheel,” said National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman.
While experts say that these safety features obviously help, the best safety feature is still an alert driver.
