Three Arrested Following Separate Breaking Into Vehicle Incidents

On the morning of July 14th, an APD officer was on patrol in the area of Billings Street and Albany Drive.

The officer saw a silver truck with the interior lights on in the alley of the 7400 block of Albany. As the officer got closer to the vehicle two males got out of the vehicle and ran on foot.

The officer chased the two males and was able to catch Brandon Scott Shelley. The second suspect was not located.

Shelley had dropped two bags as he was running from the officer. The bags contained identifying information and documents from the silver truck that the suspects had been inside of when the officer first saw them. All of the property was returned to the owner.

Shelley was booked into the Randall County Jail for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest or Detention.

Amarillo Police were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4400 block of South Bell on two suspicious people in the parking lot just after midnight Sunday.

The officer saw a gold Honda Accord leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver refused to stop. The DPS helicopter assisted in following the vehicle until it came to a stop at the intersection of South Park and Palacio Drive.

A male and female got out of the vehicle and ran on foot.

Officers detained Brandon Taylor Burk and Kaelyn Renee Robinson in the 6700 block of Palacio Drive. Burk, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. Robinson was arrested for evading arrest or detention and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers found items in the vehicle from three auto burglaries that had been committed during the night.

They also found identifying information for a victim of an auto burglary that had been reported the day before in the 4400 block of Coulter Street and a debit card belonging to a victim from an auto burglary that happened in the 6900 block of IH-40 West on July 4th.
