Jim Livingston, famed, local photo artist, brings the captivating beauty of Palo Duro Canyon State Park to Amarillo during The Sacred Canyon exhibit from 6pm to 9pm on July 15 at Chalice Abbey.
This exhibit will feature stunning photos of the Lighthouse, Castle Rock and other well-known landmarks of the park. Matted prints and time-lapse video will be available for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to Partners in Palo Duro Canyon, a non-profit foundation that raises money to purchase firefighting, rescue and many other needed items for the park.
“Jim’s work is stunning,” said Palo Duro Canyon State Park Superintendent Shannon Blalock. “He manages to capture emotions in his photographs that are raw and beautiful. He also loves the canyon, and I believe you will see that in his photography.”
Admission is free and live music will be provided by Mike Fuller as a dazzling night sky time-lapse video plays on the big screen. Cowboy Gelato Smokehouse will be handing out free samples of gelato and also will be selling food from their food truck in the parking lot. Park Superintendent Blalock will be there to answer any questions about the park and Texas: The Musical also will be represented.
