The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is celebrating 30 years of helping kids in our area, and April just happens to be Child Abuse Awareness Month.
Throughout the past 30 years, The Bridge has helped make the prosecution process easier on the child’s mental health by providing them the necessary resources.
They hope to lay out another foundation to help more people for the next 20 years.
“Because we are educated in what that looks like, we’re not scared to step up for a child and that’s really important… to have the courage, be that one with courage, to step up and protect that child,” said Shelly Bohannon, executive director.
Bohannon said if you know of a child who is being abused to call your local law enforcement agency.
