An Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient is enjoying a present too big to fit under a tree.

Sunday former Combat Medic Travis Worrell hoisted the flag in front of his Christmas gift.

A mortgage-free smart home equipped with the technology to help him and his wife find a new sense of normal

Worrell was left partially paralyzed after being injured by a rocket-propelled grenade while serving overseas in 2012.

The gift from the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation is full of high tech helping hands for Worrell.

He says the technology and the community’s support are a little overwhelming.

One of the things Worrell is looking forward to the most pulldown cabinets and an adjustable stovetop so he can get back to one of his favorite things, cooking for his wife.
