Mumps Outbreak At Ice Detention Facility in Houston 52


Health officials in Houston confirm seven cases of the mumps at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Houston.

The seven people are adults who got sick during detainment.

City of Houston health officials say they’re working with the facility on infection control and will do an on-site visit soon.

The mumps, which is caused by a virus, can be prevented by a vaccine.

Most people with the mumps recover without serious complications.
