Teen Marijuana Use Linked To Higher Rates Of Depression

Teenagers who use marijuana are at a higher risk of depression– according to new data.

The new study found — about seven percent of cases of depression in teens could have been prevented if the teens stopped using cannabis.

Researchers say– the results suggest, if cannabis use were eliminated, there would be an estimated 400 thousand fewer cases of depression in 18 to 34-year-olds in the united states.

The study was published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry.
