News

Police in Plainview are investigating after a student is reportedly hit by a vehicle.

Police say they were called to Plainview High School on a hit and run accident Thursday around 6:15 p.m.

When they arrived they say they found a 17 year-old cheerleader who had been struck by a car.

The girl suffered minor injuries to her leg.

Police say the vehicle was later discovered to belong to Alan Hernandez.

Police located Hernandez at a home and arrested him for Fail to Stop Render Aid.

Police say Hernandez verbally threatened then and then reportedly became violent and assaulted two jailers once he was taken to the Hale County Law Enforcement Detention Center.

A female jailer was taken to the hospital for injuries she sustained while trying to restrain Hernandez.
