Supplements Don’t Prevent Depression

A new study finds preventing depression isn’t as simple as taking a vitamin every day.

Researchers say, people who took a multivitamin every day for a year, were just as likely to develop depression as people who took a placebo.

The study looked at more than a thousand people in the united kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain.

It was spurred by previous research suggesting that some diets or low levels of certain nutrients could be linked with a higher risk of depression.

But doctors say the data shows simply supplementing nutrients won’t fix the problem.

The study was published in the journal JAMA.
