AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - Stand 4 LEOs hosted its 4th annual Walk for Law Enforcement at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Due to inclement weather, it was held indoors at 3701 Plains Blvd. It will be in the Sunset Center Art Crouch Room.
Officer Jesse Hartnett and Veteran John Burk spoke at the event. There was also be a special visit from Bowtie Brisy, a therapy dog.
On Jan. 7, 2016 Officer Hartnett was ambushed by an armed assailant who claimed ties to a terrorist group. Even though Officer Hartnett was wounded, he returned fire striking the suspect. The suspect was arrested and in May of 2018 was sentenced. Officer Hartnett is still recovering and looking forward to returning to duty with the Philadelphia Police Department.
Burk is an Army Combat Veteran with 13 years of service. He served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Burk is a business owner, social media marketing advisor, actor, writer, and director of Vet TV. He is also a partnered gamer with Twitch and political commentator.
