St. Francis of Assisi Church hosted its 61st annual German Sausage Dinner on Saturday, March 10.
Parishioners said this is the longest running German sausage dinner in Amarillo. It was held in the church’s parish hall.
Parishioner Ed Montana said the dinner is much more than just sausage.
“Here we are today with over 3,500 pounds of a secret recipe german sausage, sauerkraut, green beans, mashed potatoes, homemade bread, and everything is made right here on sight nothing is reheated and warmed up,” Montana said.
Montana said only a couple of other parishioners know the recipe for the sausage.
