News

(KOAA) Prime Time Sports owner, Stephen Martin, announced that the store he ran for almost twenty years is going out of business.

Martin decided to stop selling Nike apparel as a result of their 2018 ad campaign that featured former NFL quarter back, Colin Kaepernick. Martin’s decision lead to a decline in sales.

“Being a sports store without Nike is kind of like being a milk store without milk or a gas station without gas. How do you do it? They have a monopoly on jerseys,” says Martin who knew this day would eventually come.

The store will stay open until everything is gone, In the meantime, Martin says he is helping his employees find new jobs.
