Six suspects have been arrested in Amarillo after the Amarillo Police Department Special Victims Unit and ProActive Criminal Enforcement Unit set up an undercover operation.
The suspects have been identified by APD as Jareth Hunter Fortenberry, age 29; Charles Riley Johnson, age 50; Byron DeVall Laury, age 44; Joshua Richard Oliphant, age 31; Agustin Rosa, age 36; and Kirk Monroe Winningham, age 49.
According to APD, on Friday, Sept. 21, Special Victims Unit detectives posed as 15-and-16-year-olds. The suspects initiated contact with an undercover officer through text messages and arranged to have sexual intercourse for money.
Police say when the suspects arrived at the agreed upon location, they were arrested, interviewed and booked into Randall County Jail for online solicitation of a minor.
APD also adds that over the past year and a half, they have received information that several local teenage girls are involved in human trafficking.
