Update: Woman Arrested in the Shooting on McCarty Blvd.

AMARILLO, TX - ***UPDATE 1-18-2017***


APD officers were dispatched to a call that a man had been shot. 

It happened Monday morning at 10:34 on the 5100 block of McCarty Boulevard.

Police say the man had an argument with 35-year-old Amanda Beth Davidson.

A person police say he had previously been in a dating relationship with.

During the argument police say Davidson shot the man with a handgun, with the bullet hitting him in the chest.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officials say Davidson and two other people were detained during the investigation.

Davidson was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and four local municipal warrants.

She was booked into the Randall County Jail.

The other two subjects were released.


One man is taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in southwest Amarillo.

According to Amarillo Police, it happened just after 10:30 Monday morning in the 5100 block of McCarty Blvd.

Police was dispatched to a home where a man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Three people from inside the house have been detained. APD is not looking for additional suspects, but they say they are still investigating.
