As he continues his U.S. Senate reelection campaign, Senator Ted Cruz made a stop in Amarillo Saturday night at the Botanical Gardens.
Nearly 1,000 people lined up to see Sen. Cruz. His speech began at 8 and ran until about 9:30 p.m. Following his speech, Sen. Cruz stayed to take photos with attendees and sat down with KAMR Local 4 News for an exclusive interview.
Following his debate in Dallas Friday with challenger, U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke, Sen. Cruz stressed the importance of stopping in the Panhandle ahead of the Nov. 6 election.
Sen. Cruz stated, “Well the Panhandle is incredibly important. You know the values of West Texas are just common sense conservative values and this election matters. This election is a fundamental choice for Texas and for the country, and Amarillo and throughout the Panhandle need to show up if we want to protect our freedoms, if we want to protect the second amendment.”
Early voting for the election begins Oct. 22.
