(NBC News) Unless you’re a hardcore Republican insider you’ve never heard of the 37 people Ted Cruz is hoping will help him secure his party’s nomination.
The Cruz campaign is specifically targeting unpledged Republican delegates in Colorado who can side with any candidate at the convention in July.
Trump’s looming delegate problem has forced him to hire a fixer, Paul Manafort, an adviser to GOP campaigns dating back to Ronald Reagan.
While the Republicans battle over delegates, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders backed off in their fight over who’s qualified to be the nominee.
“On her worst day, she would be an infinitely better president than either of the Republican candidates,” Sanders said of Clinton Friday.
