The Randall County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a benefit lunch from 11 a.m. to 01 p.m.
The proceeds from the event will go to benefit the A.J. Swope Plaza. The plaza to be built will be located in downtown Amarillo near the new MPEV.
The AJ Swope Plaza is a privately funded project that upon completion will be donated to the City of Amarillo for area residents to utilize as a place for remembrance, reflection, and celebration.
The Plaza will feature Amarillo’s First Responders Memorial honoring those men and women who have given their lives in the line of duty, the Texas Panhandle Walk of Fame recognizing the many notable individuals from across the region who have made distinguished contributions in their field, and a public amphitheater with tiered seating for 300+ people for concerts and other events.
AJ Swope Plaza will be centrally located in downtown Amarillo on SE 8th Street between Lincoln and Johnson Streets, adjacent to the City of Amarillo’s new ballpark on land owned by the City.
You can come by the Randall County Event Center located at 1111 East Loop 335 South and get a Hamburger, chips, cookie and a drink for only $7.00 with all proceeds going to the plaza.
