Amarillo — according to Allstate Insurance, Randall County in the Texas Panhandle ranks high for the amount of claims they see for severe weather damage.
Randall County ranked #3 on the list of “Highest Frequency of Nature Related Peril (wind, hail and flood)”
Randall was #5 for the most wind and hail claims, and #22 on the list for the most lightning claims.
Allstate only looked at the years from 2010-2014 for these numbers.
A local auto repair shop told us they see increases in their repairs when big hail storms hit.
An Allstate agent said that “Texans are exposed to more types of natural disasters than any other state.”
Local meteorologists agreed that with all of the different types of weather we see, we could indeed see more than any other state.
