As part of the City of Amarillo’s progressive plan for the San Jacinto neighborhood, the second San Jacinto Neighborhood Plan public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 at the Rehrer Center at San Jacinto Christian Academy, located on the northeast corner of Sixth Ave. and South Carolina St. The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The City of Amarillo, in partnership with Potter County, is developing the plan for the San Jacinto neighborhood. The plan is part of the “BluePrint for Amarillo,” a compilation of pillars and city manager initiatives authorized by Amarillo City Council and updated in 2018.
The first San Jacinto Neighborhood Plan meeting was held in March.
City staff will be in attendance. In addition, Cassie Wright from Urban Milestones will deliver a introductory presentation and facilitate small group activities to gather feedback and insight. Members of the citizen advisory committee will also be in attendance.
The focus of the meeting will be to discuss the vision and guiding principles for the San Jacinto neighborhood. The neighborhood plan will include recommendations from residents, property owners and business owners regarding specific improvement projects and policy. Community particpation will be vital in determining strategies.
