Pope Frances Embraces “Imperfect Catholics”

(NBC News) A new document issued by Pope Francis offers an updated road map for the Catholic church in dealing with contemporary society.
There’re no major change in doctrine, but a shift in approach.
The 260 page document’s entitled “The Joy of Love”. In it, the pope calls for a more merciful and loving church, urging compassion for “imperfect Catholics”.
“No one can be condemned forever, he says, that’s not the logic of the gospel,” explains Chicago Archbishop Blaze Cupich, praising the document as “creative and imaginative”.
It’s the result of a two year dialogue between ordinary Catholics and church hierarchy, acknowledging the realities of modern life.
The document continues to exclude divorced or remarried Catholics from communion, but says they should not feel excommunicated from the church.
