Police Want Help Finding Wanted Men

News

Police in Amarillo are hoping the community can help them track down several wanted people.

Police are always looking for wanted fugitives, but they are ramping up their efforts.

Cpl. Jeb Hilton of Amarillo Police Department explained why community support is so important to APD.

“Some of these warrants are for violent offenders and that makes us really want to find this person and get them off the street so we can have a safer place in Amarillo, some of them are just warrants we have had out for a while and we just really need to get this person picked up,” Hilton stated.

Right now police are asking for your help finding five wanted men.

Jody Lewis, is wanted for murder after a fatal shooting this weekend.

Timetreous Dizer is wanted for probation violation assault on a family member impeding breath, evading arrest with a vehicle and probation violation assault on a family member.

Swoy Lain is wanted for two counts of injury to elderly or disabled persons.

Khiree Stenson is wanted for burglary of habitation and theft of property.

Kurt Gaide Jr. is wanted for burglary of a vehicle.

Hilton tells us in some cases people may not know they have a warrant.

“If you don’t know if you have an active warrant, you can always go on the municipal court website to see if you have a municipal warrant, you can also go on the Potter and Randall County websites and they have a list of active warrants out of both counties,” Hilton said.

If you know where any of the wanted people are, you are asked to call the Amarillo Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

If your tip leads to an arrest, you could earn an award.
