The Shopko Foundation is pleased to announce Perryton High School teacher Jeff Vanlandingham won a $500 grant in its first-ever Tools for Teachers contest. The grant allows Vanlandingham and nine other teachers to stock their classroom with new supplies for the 2017-2018 school year.
The 10 winning teachers also have the opportunity to receive a $5,000 grand prize to stock every classroom in his or her school through a public voting contest open from September 21 to October 5.
“The Shopko Foundation recognizes teachers and the amount of out-of-pocket money they spend on classroom supplies every year, which is $500 on average,” said Michelle Hansen, Shopko Foundation manager. “We want to give the public the opportunity to vote for the teacher who will receive the grand prize of $5,000 to stock their entire school.”
Beginning September 21, customers can visit Shopko’s Facebook page to vote for one of the 10 nominated teachers to win the grand prize of $5,000. Customers can vote once every 24 hours. The grand prize winner will be announced following the voting contest.
