The Perryton Independent School District Board of Trustees began their special meeting with an executive session that lasted nearly three hours.

School Board President Monty Kinnard says this started when he received a sexual harassment allegation against Superintendent Robert Hall and Assistant superintendent Keith Langfitt.

Officials say they brought in an independent investigator to look at the situation.

The school board says the independent investigator gave them a “mountain” of information which took them a long time to grow through.

We are told they are still considering their best option, but because both Superintendent Hall and Assistant Superintendent Langfitt voluntarily took a leave of absence, the board did not have to make a decision yet.

The board says they will make a decision on an acting superintendent on Saturday, October 14.

Kinnard would not comment on who issued the complaint or any details about the complaint itself.
