Pampa Lieutenant and Minor Released from Hospital After Being Struck by Car

A Pampa Police Patrol Lieutenant who was hit by a car has been treated and released from the hospital.

The Pampa Police Department says Lt. Troy Green was struck by a car while investigating a traffic accident in North Pampa.

A pedestrian was involved in the original accident was also released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Pampa Police had responded to the wreck near 23rd and Price around 9:16 p.m. and were in the process of investigating when a car struck Lt. Green and a minor who was involved in the wreck.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the officer is facing charges.

DPS is taking over that portion of the investigation.

Pampa Police say a bystander, 49-year-old Joel Ontiveros was arrested at the scene after he began to interfere with the investigation.

He was charged with public intoxication, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Four people were involved in the original wreck when a car struck a utility pole.

Two of them were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Pampa Police are reminding drivers to use caution when approaching a scene where there are emergency warning lights.
