Palo Duro Senior Receives New Car before College

An Amarillo senior will be driving to college in a brand new car.

We told you last week, a senior in Amarillo would get a new car and now the winner has the keys.

Palo Duro senior, Ali Khoshan will now be able to drive his car when he starts at Amarillo College.

“I feel overjoyed you know, I’m going to be able to pursue my career do successful things with my life,” said Khoshan.

In his letter for the ACE Scholarship car giveaway, Khoshan said after losing his father unexpectedly, he, his mother and a sibling had to share a car.

“We need a new car, and we have a car too. It is just all messed up and stuff right now. It barely works this car could come in great hand you know,” added Khoshan.

His sister had to drop out of college because she didn’t have a way to get there.

Now she will.

“I can start giving her rides, and we don’t have to depend on anyone anymore. I can just take her to school when she needs to go. Or whenever we need to go to the store, I can take them. It’s not going to be a problem,” said Khoshan.

Russ Duncan, with Auto Sales and Finance says they received several heartwarming stories but are glad they chose Ali.

“He comes from a great family, the counselors rave about him, we couldn’t have picked a better kid which makes us very happy, and it’s just nice to give it away and make somebody’s day,” said Duncan.

Khoshan is planning on going to Amarillo College to study to become a pharmacist.

He plans on one day transferring to Texas Tech.
