The Opera Cowgirls performed at Arts in the Sunset’s First Art Walk on Friday, March, 1.
The Opera Cowgirls are based out of New York City and feature a local girl, Sarah Beckham-Turner, who is a graduate of Tascosa High School and serves on the voice faculty of West Texas A&M University.
The other three members are Caitlin McKechney, Mila Henry and Jessica Sandidge.
The Opera Cowgirls would describe themselves as the Three Tenors who met the Dixie Chicks in a bar in Brooklyn and they all had a shot of whiskey.
This group was founded in 2011 by McKechney in New York. It was created as a way to bring opera to the masses.
