“Game of Bones”
The annual royal luncheon was held Saturday for the king and queen of Barkus.
King Baker Williamson and Queen Luna Settoon of the Krewe of Barkus had their traditional Friday lunch at the historic Galatoire’s Restaurant.
Dressed in regal garments, King Baker and Queen Luna were honored with champagne toasts and canine cuisine. The Galatoire’s staff served the royals a customary and lavish meal of lamb chops.
This year’s theme “Game of Bones: Barkus Marks its Territory.”
All proceeds from Barkus, a non-profit organization founded by Wood Enterprises, benefit animal organizations in New Orleans and the Gulf South area.
Life Size Chocolate Sculpture
Hershey’s chocolate world attraction in Pennsylvania unveiled a new life-sized sculpture on Saturday made entirely of milk chocolate.
The sweetest place on earth kicked off its month-long event “chocolate-covered February” with the unveiling of a new exhibit.
The six-foot two-hundred-pound sculpture depicts Hershey founder Milton Hershey.
It took two Pennsylvania-based artists working for about one month to construct the exhibit made entirely of Hershey’s milk chocolate.
The same pair teamed up last year to create the first-annual chocolate sculpture of the Hershey bar mascot.
The chocolate sculpture will remain on display for the entire month of February.
