One Person Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

On Monday morning, a Potter County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation.

The vehicle was being driven by a 21-year-old male and  a passenger, 57-year-old Rebecca Jo Winchester.

As the deputy spoke to both subjects, he observed indicators of criminal activity and asked for consent to search the vehicle.  Consent was granted by both subjects.

During the consensual search, the deputy located several bags containing hashish, THC oils, and marijuana wax hidden in the spare tire compartment.

During the investigation, Winchester admitted to purchasing the products in California and was transporting them to their home state of Missouri.  The bags contained liquid VAPE pen cartridges for smoking.

Rebecca was arrested for three 2nd degree felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

The male driver was released and not charged at this time.

The case remains under investigation.

Rebecca was arraigned on these charges on November 24, 2015 and bond was set at $15,000 for each charge.
