UPDATE 6:02 P.M.:
Officials said the fire in the Stinnett area is contained however smoke may still be present for some time.
They said Borger residents have been calling about other smoke from the southwest.
Officials told us this appears to be drift from a prescribed burn today in Potter County.
There are currently no reported uncontrolled fires in the vicinity.
UPDATE 5:00 P.M.:
According to officials, fire progression has been stopped. East Broadway has been reopened. Carbon Camp Road remains closed. Crews and aircraft will continue to be working in the area for some time.
Crews are responding to a wildfire southeast of Stinnett.
The City of Borger / Hutchinson County OEM said there is no immediate threat to Stinnett residences.
We are told East Broadway out of Stinnett is currently closed due to heavy smoke.
Stinnett, Borger, Fritch, County Road and Bridge, National Park Service, and Texas A&M Forest Service are being utilized.
Officials said at this time some sheds and vehicles have been reported burned in the fire, however, no reports of homes lost.
