Former Curry County detention officer sentenced for assisting in jail escape

The detention officer who pleaded guilty to helping three inmates escape the Curry County Detention Center has been sentenced.

Sarina Dodson, 28, of Clovis, was sentenced to nine years on three counts of Assisting Escape and one count of Bringing Contraband into a Jail.

The three inmates were at large for almost a week before they were caught during a SWAT standoff in Clovis.

Dodson was arrested in Lubbock a few days after the escape.
