Albuquerque police: 1 dead in possible street racing crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Police in Albuquerque say one person is dead after a crash possibly related to street racing.

The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Saturday on the city’s west side.

A second person was hospitalized. Police said in a news release that witnesses saw two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash.

They believe the drivers may have been racing.

In another traffic incident Saturday night, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and and seriously injured.
