Tentative Schedule for Pope Francis’ Trip to the United States Released

The vatican has released the tentative schedule for Pope Francis’ trip to the United States.

The Pope is expected to arrive in the United States on September 23rd and will head back to rome the following Sunday.

The Pope will visit Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Pope will begin his visit Wednesday, meeting with President Obama at the White House.

On Thursday Pope Francis will address a joint session of Congress before heading to New York City.

While in New York, he will attend Thursday’s evening prayer at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Friday, he’ll visit the United Nations and address the UN General Assembly.

Pope Francis will attend a multi-religious service at the 9/11 memorial and museum at the World Trade Center before holding a mass at Madison Square Garden. 

Saturday the Pope makes his way to Philadelphia where he is expected to visit St. Charles Seminary and the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility.

Pope Benedict the 16th visited Washington, D.C. and New York City in 2008.
