Being a dog owner could be part of your DNA

Being a dog owner could be in your DNA.

A team of Swedish and British researchers compared the genetic makeup of more than 35,000 twins and finding identical twins are more likely to be dog owners than fraternal twins which could support the theory that genetics plays a role in dog ownership.

The choice to get a dog may be influenced by a person’s DNA.

Researchers say the findings will help them better understand the relationship between people and their pets.
