Nair Asks for City Manager’s Resignation

News
Amarillo — Amarillo’s City manager may soon be looking for another job.

Newly sworn-in Council member Mark Nair apparently asked Jarrett Atkinson for his resignation following Tuesday’s Council Meeting.

A source tells KAMR Local 4 News/Fox 14 News that Nair tried to ask for the resignation during a closed session but was told he could not because it was not on the agenda.

Once the session ended, Nair allegedly told Jarrett if he didn’t resign, he would put it to a council-wide vote.

Nair also asked for a review of every member of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation board and their possible recall.

All of this information should be on the record since it happened out of closed session.

During an interview prior to the closed session, we asked Nair if he was planning to propose any changes to city management, he said it was something that needed to be talked about and he isn’t very happy with them.
