One drink a day keeps the doctor away?
New research says think again.
According to a study from the American College of Cardiology, just seven to 13 drinks per week may lead to high blood pressure.
Researchers looking at the health records of more than 17,000 people.
The group finding those who drank moderately were more than twice as likely to develop hypertension.
The study is among the first to contradict earlier research which found moderate drinking can protect heart health.
Experts recommend checking your blood pressure if you drink moderately or heavily.
