Missouri may become first state without abortion clinic

Missouri may become the first state to not have an abortion clinic.

Planned Parenthood says the state is threatening to not renew the license of the one abortion facility left there.

The clinic is located in St. Louis.

Its license expires June, 1st.

There’s no word on exactly why the state is threatening to not renew the license.

Planned Parenthood is suing to keep the clinic open.

The news comes less than a week after Missouri Governor Mike Parson signed a bill banning abortion after the eighth week of pregnancy.

The law does not include exceptions for rape or incest.

Doctors who violate the law could face five to 15 years in prison.

Women who terminate their pregnancies won’t be prosecuted.
